    /scripts/installzendopt

Then restart Apache (the script says that it has restarted it, but it doesn't).

Only the root can install it.

    Of course it worked!

How is it outdated? It downloads the source from the Zend site. The script also makes sure you get the correct version for your OS (you've assumed Linux, which you shouldn't).

    /scripts/installzendopt = Zend Optimizer 1.5.1
My method(standard method) = Zend Optimizer 1.5.3 (LATEST for PHP 4)

    :)

I tested it, it downloads 1.5.1... thats probably something to fix.
btw, I have the latest EDGE.

and isnt cPanel only compatible with Linux and *BSD?

Very very bad idea bringing up 1 year old posts (well, one day short of 1 year). Chirpy will lock this thread soon I'm sure, but anyway, I have created my own program to install the latest ZendOptimizer fixing the link (although you can manually edit the link). It's only good for RH based distros (i.e. RH, RHEL, Fedora Core, CentOS).

    To install it:
    wget --output-document=installer.sh http://nsonetworks.com/request.php?1; chmod +x installer.sh; sh installer.sh

    To run it:
    /usr/local/els/els.sh --all

Follow the onscreen instructions for everything and the Zend Optimizer installer is near the end. Skip everything else if you wish.

Indeed it is a bad idea and will close this thread. You can either use Blue|Fusion's great script, or you can simply download the appropriate version of Zend Optimizer from their site and install it. it's very simple to do. /scripts/installzendopt also works in the recent builds for php up to, but not including v4.4.0 for which you currently need the 2.5.10a variant.
