How do you point a subdomain to a given IP?

    Hi,

    How do you point a subdomain to a different IP? i.e. my home ip address...

    Use the DNS editor in WHM. :)

    You can't do it in cPanel.

    ive tried that - it doesnt work.

    I added an A record, is that right?
    how long should it take to take effect?

    Go to 'Edit a DNS Zone' and select a domain

    Add a new record like this.

    subdomain 14400 IN A 123.123.123.123

    and if you want to point to another domain


    subdomain 14400 IN CNAME otherdomain.com.
