I'm not 'leaving' cpanel and have started offering cpanel servers for lease.. but I have one machine that I started off with learning how to install and setup cpanel. I want to load freevsd on there for the heck of it to try it out... so is there an eays to remove cpanel without having to get another restore of the server?

Not really .. your best bet is formatting it since cpanel installs over 100 megs of packages, it would be faster to just reinstall redhat..
