How do you remove unused SSL Cert files

Hi,

I was testing the self signed SSL cert creation and installation process. I created a subdomain, then created a cert and installed it.

I then decided to use a different domain for SSL and deleted the SSL Host using whm.

When I reload the SSL manager page, there is a long list of files still related to the defunct SSL domain.

Can this be cleaned up... those files removed?

Do you know what directory they reside in?

The files are usually in /usr/share/ssl/certs and /usr/share/ssl/private.

Any files that include a domain name that is not wanted can be safely removed.

Just be careful with rm. Don't ever go in and do this:
cd /
rm -rf temporary *

Some of the long term folks here may remember that. When I was a newbie, I installed something. I downloaded the files to /temporary then installed. Next I had to delete the "temporary" folder. I was new with shell commands and instead of
rm -rf temporary/*
I typed
rm -rf temporary *

Anyone knowing shell knows what that means. Right after I hit "enter" I knew I made a mistake, but it was too late. That was when I started studying shell a little more.

Some lessons are fun, but some are very expensive. :D

Thank you very much for all your help. Please feel free to ignore me at any point ( I think I have used up any expected good will ) But if you are not busy... I am having another issue...

I set up a few mailman lists. I didn't want to use my limited disk space with attachment clogged archives, so I turned off archiving. A user just sent out an email with two attachments. Instead of forwarding the files along with the email they seem to be stored on my server and came with the following link.

I tried to find the files on my server using ssh, but the archive is empty. The mailman directories I found were empty: /var/mailman/archives/private/

Do you happen to know where these files are stores? Can I get mailman to just forward the attachments along, instead of linking them locally?

Sorry, I know very little about mailman since I don't use it.

As far as learning shell commands, the best way, I think, is to issue a lot of
man command
commands, study them, and play with them.

I created the directory /root/study and changed to that directory, then just played around.

There are lots of printed books, ebooks, and websites, that are all about shell commands where you can find out about commands that you never even heard of before.
