I would like to know how incremental backup works:

    - How does it handle moved files or deleted files?
    - If it just leave deleted files or keep two copies of moved files is there anyway to delete those left-over files?
    - Can I do a full restore from incremental backup? I usually use "cpmove" files, but since there's no tar file there how does it work? isn't it a hassle to move backups around this way?

Incremental backup uses rsync to only backup the modified data. It will remove files from backup which have been deleted from the live data. This lightens the load on the server and decreases backup/restore time.

Check the following thread to see the steps to restore a incremental backup.

    Cheers!!!
