    Hello,
I wonder, how long it might take to generate a Full Backup for a 17 GB Compressed tar.gz file?

I started it about 14 Hours ago, but still no sign of it.

Automatic backup is disabled from WHM though.

    Thanks

It could take a very long time depending on the system that's creating it. And the environment it's to be created in. Is there enough space for that size of a backup to be created?

There's several ways to check to see if it's running, the easiest might be to login to WHM, and click the link at top of page that says Load Averages, then look for a line with something like:

    pkgacct - username
    /bin/gtar -c -f - -X /etc/cpbackup-exclude.conf --exclude backup-[!_]*_[!-]*-[!-]*-[!_]*_username* .

It can be killed from this page as well if needed.

17 GB is quite large. From my experiences yes it can take to a day or so to complete the process especially when the backup is running off a busy production server.

    ha ha...it might take years...:D

By the way, you might follow Infopro's advise and use pkgacct script to generate it as it might help to reduce the time used as I believe that 1 day old backup are useless if you have a live site.
