How many accounts/domains can you have on one average server. Not a killer machine but one with lets say:
    P4 2,4, 1GB ram and 100Mbit/sec connection.

or just an avarega number of clients you have on each server before it reach the limit.

    Any idea ?

    Maybe 200 normal websites ?
Maybe 10 really high trafic sites ?

    But the average ...?

Well, this would also depend on how busy the sites are as far as resources used. I would say with that server config...150-200 max

I have seen people run 700 sites on a box like that with loads under 1 for 6 months with no problems. I have also seen a box like that crash daily with just 2 sites on it. It's a trial and error thing. All about traffic and content and loads.

I second that, it's very dependant on what exactly your client does, and how. Using the right language for the right task, having enough mysql indexes for the right forum, all these impact the load on a server.
