    Personally, I run it every day when I login to WHM to check the stats. I also run it whenever I see any important updates come out and if needed, upcp. Once a day is probobly more than enough in most cases.

    It runs automatically as part of the nightly upcp script, so its really not necessary to worry about this.

    I don't think it updates everything though as it went without updating MySQL 4.0.23 until I ran the sysup manually.

    upcp, which runs nightly, calls sysup:
    Code:
          if ($UPCONF{'SYSUP'} ne "manual" || $ishuman) {
               if (-e "/var/cpanel/ftpup") {
                    system("/scripts/ftpup");
               }
               if (-e "/var/cpanel/mysqlup") {
                    system("/scripts/mysqlup");
               }
             system("/scripts/sysup");
          }
