I am curious if there is a recommend time frame that we should recompile easy apache? Once a month, once a year.
How often are some of you doing this?

Login to WHM and click on the "news" link, that will give you cpanel's latest news including when Easyapache updates, php updates etc have been released.

The security advisor in WHM will also prompt you, although I'm not sure whether it checks if there are issues with what you've built specifically

Updates for PHP and Apache happen fairly regularly, often every two weeks in PHP's case. If you have PHP installed on your server, I'd recommend that you run EasyApache as frequently as necessary to keep PHP up to date. If you do not keep PHP and Apache up to date, your server may have security vulnerabilities that could be avoided.

You can view our change log to get an idea of how frequently we update, and what is included in each update: https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/EA/EasyApache+Change+Log
