    I'm using Cpanel 9.9.9-R70 .

I have a piece of equipment that scans to email, but does not support smtp authentication.

I want to add the public IP of the network internet connection to the Exim Mail server to allow it to relay without authenticating.

I've added the IP to /etc/relayhosts and it will work, but it dissapears after about 20 minues b/c thats the file where the Pop users are kept ot allow relay according to what i've ben told.

Is there anything that I can do? I have several sites with these machines and need to be able to set this up.

    Thanks,

    Patrick

Add the IP address to a file /etc/alwaysrelay
    restart exim.

That file might not exist, so just create it.

I eventually found another post and did that already, and it seems to work.

Another question though. How often does this refresh, or do i need to restart exim each time i edit the /etc/alwaysrelay file?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

As far as I am aware, you will need to restart exim whenever you modify it..
