How to change the ownership for postgresql database

Hello,

I have a postgresql database. When i try to take the backup of that database I get permission error. When i check it from the phppgadmin, it give me unknown user permission for all the tables.

Please guide me to take proper backup for the postgresql database. also give the command for the backup. Also tell me how do i give correct permission for the database tables form phppgadmin.
