How to change the size limit of log files ?

    Hi ,

    I want to change the size limit of my log files for exapmle /varlog/message . Which is currently 2GB . When it's get filled my server throws 500 internal server error . I want to change the file size limit . How can I go about it . I also want tochange the size limit for other files .
    I have already enable cron to empty it but some time it gets filled before cron can empty it.
