How to check motherboard model number on linux

    Hello,

    We have centos 5 and ubuntu 6.06 OS on server. Now I want to know the information of Motherboard number. how to get it ????

    /proc/cpuinfo gives the information of Processor. I want the information of Motherboard number .

    Like in windows we can get information from following
    start -> run -> dxdiag
    this command will gives you all info . same information is needed on linux.

    Try dmidecode or hwinfo

    "dmidecode | grep motherboard" should give you what you're looking for.
