    How do I check whether there is a firewall?, how to detect a firewall?


    One more question

    When I did trace route for a website, it showed me a lot addresses i didn't understand anything. Can you give me the details of what all will come during the tracing of route

    Dear sujai,

    You can detect if the firewall is blocking a particular port by checking whether you can telnet to that port.

    Trace Route prints the route packets take to network host. For more help try
    man traceroute.
