The other day one of my servers went down due to a corruption of the kernel. I was very surprised as it has been rock solid for nearly a year up to that point.

I was reading somewhere that I can get a notification related to kernel issues?

Something to do with "kernel oops"?

    Hello :)

I found the following external resources that should help explain "Kernel Oops":

    Linux Kernel Oops
    Understanding A Kernel Oops

You could use the following script on your system to search the dmesg logs for a kernel oops:

    Code:
    /scripts/oopscheck
    Thank you.
