Thanks Chirpy since samba folder was already present in /etc including smb.conf and other samba files I was just wondering if samba was already installed and working, I am not sure if I reinstalled the application and start from sktrach will it affect the existing cpanel configuration.

I just do not want to disturb my existing cpanel settings, but would like to try using samba as well.

Samba was probably installed when the server OS was installed, it's not used by or installed by cPanel. You're free to configure it yourself and it should not affect cPanel in any way.
