    Hi,

    I have a user who is moving to a dedicated server and wanted to keep the Mail server on the cPanel box.

    The DNS management is done on the cPanel box.

    So the path to reach my client's site is:

    GoDaddy --> MycPanelDNS --> NewBoxForWeb
    GoDaddy --> MycPanelDNS --> MycPanelForMail

    123.123.123.111 <----- OLD IP
    123.123.123.555 <----- NEW IP

    We actually want to keep one subdomain running on the old server, It is mail.myclientdomain.com subdomain.

    I've tried to redirect it,. but I'm unable to make the Mail work. The Web stuff is working fine.

    Here is the /var/named/myclientdomain.com.db

    PHP:

    Modified by Web Host Manager

    Can anyone suggest what I should do to fix this so that it will treat the email on the old server?

    Thanks,

    -Alon.

    try

    Hello.

    It seems to be you entries are correct..
    please run following command
    rndc reload a
    1)click on DNS function
    2)synchronize records
    To synchronize DNS records with the primary nameserver:

    Click on the Synchronize DNS Records with Primary Nameserver link in the DNS Functions menu.

    please verify your mail.domain.com point to old server.

    You need to change

    myclientdomain.com. 14400 IN MX 0 myclientdomain.com.

    To

    myclientdomain.com. 14400 IN MX 0 mail.myclientdomain.com.

    Otherwise it's just going to try to send mail to the new server, not the cpanel server.

    There is a file called:

    /etc/remotedomains

    If you have an entry in it, it will think that the entire domain is not on the server.
    If you use the WHM to edit the domain info, it will populate this file.
    If you manipulate the named files by hand, there will be no entries in this file and
    all your settings will then work fine.

    Thanks for the answers.
    This was resolved by cPanel staff.

    -Alon.
