How can I copy an entire domain to another domain on the same server?

For example, I have xyz.com with a Wordpress install. A client doesn't want to use xyz.com anymore and wants me to use abc.com

If it's just one wp install, not installed by Fantastico or cPanel and nothing else on the account (like email) you might do fine to simply backup/compress the wp directory alone (using the File Manager for example), backup the database for it as well from cPanel and move them to the new account. Restore the DB, extract the wp install to where you want it, then edit the configuration for the new domain in the wp config file.

Or you could make the abc.com an addon domain, then move the wp install to that new directory the addon creates. The database would still work with no changes but the site config would still need edited of course.

Or, you could try editing the domain name itself on the account as root from WHM. YMMV there.

Not sure if any of that's helpful or not..

If the abc.com is not hosted on your domain then you can simply rename the domain name from xyz.com to abc.com by modifying the account.

If the abc.com and xyz.com is hosted on your server then you will have to generate the full backup of xyz.com from cPanel and then need to restore it on abc.com.

If "xyz.com" is the primary domain of the account and if "abc.com" is not yet setup, this can be accomplished by changing the domain of the account via the WHM control panel at the following menu path:
WHM: Main >> Account Functions >> Modify an Account

If "abc.com" is already setup, please ensure to remove it first before performing the change of the account's primary domain name.
