    Hello!

I have been searching the forums but cant seem to find the right search term to find the answer.

How to create email account like user@www.domain.com insted of just user@domain.com.

A couple of new clients need to be able to receive through www.domain.com because their existing accounts somewhere else are set up that way.

    Thank you!

    1. You'll need to manually change the httpd.conf to remove any reference to www.domain.tld. If the servername directive is www.domain.tld edit it and remove the www., and look for a serveralias directive for the domain and remove it. If www.domain.tld is a serveralias just delete the serveralias directive.

    2. Go their cPanel and create a subdomain www.domain.tld. This should create an available email subdomain www.domain.tld and a website of www.domain.tld.

    3. Now edit the httpd.conf and locate the www.domain.tld virtualhost and change the document root to the same directory as the virtualhost domain.tld.

You could try skipping steps 1 and 3, but you'll end up with www.domain.tld and domain.tld pointing to two different directories, if it works, but it's not likely to work because the www.domain.tld will already exist in your httpd.conf.

another way you could do it is
    1. in WHM park the domain www.domain.tld on top of domain.tld

2.then in cpanel you will be able to setup the email account
    or
setup the "Add a New Domain Forwarder" to send all mail for www.domain.tld to domain.tld

so if someone by mistake sends an elmail to fred@domain.tld instead of fred.www.domain.tld it will be forwarded through instead of bouncing.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
