There have been some great tips here that require an edit to this or that script.

About weekly, I find that my edit to some script has been lost due to an apparent new version of the script from automatic updated.

I could chattr +ai but then I'd lose the update.

Is there a way for me to easily catch changes to a selected set of files, so I can reapply whatever changes I made? I'm guessing something in a cron job, but I am not sure how to catch the changes.

    Thanks!
    Bill
