I am switching away from exim, cppop and uwimap and any other mail related progs to install a different setup.

Is there a way to get cpanel to disable or remove them completely. I can use the rpm commands to install them, but I don't know whether cpanel will still reference them.

Probably not a good idea to remove all that stuff as cPanel relies on it. If you don't want to deal with those apps, you should setup a plain box and install your own apps.

    disabing cpanel email

I eventually saw that and disabled them(cppop and exim) from there and in xinetd as well. I also had to enable the relevant ports for tcpserver to function. Some parts had to be done by the admins though.
