In recent days we are facing the more and more hacking attempt by using the browser like php and cgi file execution from the browser, I have tried the following solution but it won't help..

ConfigServer Scripts Forum • View topic - Adding/Updating No execution text to htaccess in virus found directories
htaccess for subdirectories « WordPress Codex

Addhandler text/plain .pl .cgi .php .py .jsp .asp .shtml .sh
    and
Addtype text/plain .pl .cgi .php .py .jsp .asp .shtml .sh

The above code I have tried in the .htaccess file but it won't convert the php and cgi pages in the plain text, I have crated simple php page with the php mail function and its still executing from the browser.

    Awaiting for positive suggestion...
