How to edit the .cgi files

    Hi
    I was wondering how i can edit the .cgi file like 67.228.177.225 if you load that i want to edit it so it looks like this http://173.212.209.198 i tried logging into the FTP with my root account it wont let me any help would be helpful!

    Could you be a bit more specific? What .cgi? What is it you're trying to do exactly with the .cgi? CGI is a gateway, not a programming language. What type of CGI: Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP?

    You cannot FTP as root. SSH only. You can use the SSH file xfer with most FTP/SSH apps.

    To edit in bash (assuming *nix), use nano, pico, or vi.

    Actually you can SFTP in as root ;-) Ive done it plenty of times, lol.

    And use nano, or vi, or vim..

    In your WHM, type the word editor into the search box, top left corner. Click the link in the search results called Web Template Editor. On the page that opens you'll find several pages that can be edited quite easy, thanks to cPanel.
