How to increase TMP easy way?

    Hello gr8 ppl

    I have searched forums but can't understand how to do that? is there any step-by-step guide how to increase TMP partition and dont lose data?

    You can simply copy the data over to another partition, remove and then recrease /tmp.

    Before you can re-size a partition, you would need to be *absolutely* sure that you have reliable backup of everything just in case something goes wrong. What is the layout of your HD? Run this command at the prompt:
    df -Th

    What filesystem are you using: ext3 or ext2? If ext3, you should be able to re-size your partition with the Knoppix tools after turning the journal off. That means you have to have physical access to the server with Knoppix tools on a CD (Assuming your OS is either CentOS or RHE). Hope this helps!
