The title of this thread is an excellent question. :(

I have spent about the last 20 hours of my life (besides about 2 I spent sleeping) trying to make the DNSONLY version of cPanel install using various hacks from multiple threads.

First problem I was having was an include not being found (File/Copy/Recursive.pm), so I corrected this by after installing clean and minimal (CentOS 4.5), doing "yum update", then downloaded the perl588installer from Layer1 and running that. Then I "/scripts/realperlinstaller File::Code::Recursive" to take care of that issue. Next I manually compiled and installed Compress::Zlib, but it STILL tries to download this package (even though it's installed) and HANGS EVERY TIME. :(

I really would like to get this working before I leave town tomorrow morning. Is there a solution to this problem?? I have tried so many things and gotten somewhere (where, I do not know), but my head is beginning to spin.

    Peace,
    Tom

    I hope so Nick! :)

I got it to the point where Layer 2 Commences, but it hangs on the 8 dots of death. /scripts/upcp --force does the same thing. :( All the directories and stuff for cPanel are there (even in /root), but the services aren't starting. :( Any ideas?

I am going to try /scripts/sysup and rpmup and see if that helps.

    Peace,
    Tom
