Do you mean once mail queue reaches the threshold of 3000, you want them to fail ? Can you let us know as to why you want emails to fail ?

Yeah, to echo what Miles said I don't believe you'll find a supported way of doing this, the queue is there precisely enable large mail sends to be processed at configured reasonable rates and to make sure emails don't fail in the event of some error or misconfiguration.

If you want to limit the amount of mail a given domain can send, options are available for this in the mail section of tweak settings

    Tweak Settings

    Hello :)

It's generally a better idea to troubleshoot what's causing your queue to remain full than to automatically bounce new messages. Have you looked into the individual messages to see why they are failing to deliver? Are there any specific error messages?

    Thank you.

    Hello,
    This Is My Problem :

i use server for shared hosting. so some account hacked and hacker abuse hacked account for send mass emails. hacker send 10,000 - 20,000 email. i used tweak setting for limit hourly per domain , but all this 20,000 email stay in mail queue and server will crash or over load because of them.

so i wan limit mail queue in 3000-4000 email that use in normal situation.

    can u help me ?

Directly deleting emails is not a good idea. As you may also delete the emails of your good clients. You can setup below script as cron to run every 5 minutes. If the mail queue crosses 3000 then it will send you email alert and you can check the server and find the spammer.
