    is there a way to start the scheduled backups (inc remote ftp transfer) manually from shell or in any other way?

    I think what you want is /scripts/cpbackup for a full backup or /scripts/pkgacct for an individual account.

    /scripts/cpbackup --force

    You might need to set date way back in past to have it run again in nightly run.

    Reset the current backup timestamp

    This is for servers with internal harddisk for backup.
    ------------------------------------------------------

    touch -d20080101 /backuplocal/cpbackup/daily
    /scripts/cpbackup

    ===========================================
    Servers who backup to a FTP server or external drive.

    touch -d20080101 /home/cpbackuptmp/cpbackup/daily
    /scripts/cpbackup

    Hope this helps you with testing.
