I need to migrate webhostings (one by one) from one server to another server. Both have WHM / cPanel with different IP addresses. I want to migrate the complete webhosting per client (files, directories, databases, SSL certificate, email accounts and emails). What exact steps should I follow, please?

And you can make this really painless if you use the 'express' option on the transfer. The first thing, however, is to make sure that the TTL's on the older server (for the domain(s) you are transferring) are set low. We typically use 1200 (20 minutes in seconds). Once that is done (and you have waited long enough for the old TTL's to expire) you can do your transfer and use the express option. That will update DNS on the old server (for each transferred domain) to point the site to the new server. That way if you have to update name servers between the two servers, you don't have to wait for that to propagate.

Thank you so much for your support!!!
Just to avoid any problems, I would like to transfer the accounts one by one. For instance, I transfer one account and once I check that everything's right in the new server, then I will go on migrating accounts from one server to the other. My question is ... must I create first the account on the new server before transferring from the old server?

The transfer system will let you choose what accounts you want to transfer. If you want to do them one by one that's not a problem. You can also use it to transfer your packages.

You do not want to create the accounts on the new server. Effectively the transfer system does the following:

  • Backs up the account on the old server
  • Transfers the backup to the new server
  • Restores the accounts
  • Points DNS on the old server to the new server (if you choose express)
  • Suspends the account on the old server (if you choose express)
If the account exits on the new server the transfer system won't let you transfer it (without forcing the transfer).

Hello,
i`m in the same situation, i whant to move in the night time around 30-50 / night to a new server because i`m not able to move them in 1 night they ar around 450 and the problem is the old provider (datacenter) they lost theyr peers and they have a rubish network now limited to 5mb/s

So i got another server to a new datacenter with new ips.
My problem witch i dont understand is.

My nameservers they got ips from the old datacenter, do i have to modify my nameservers ? or edit just 1 and add and ip from the new datacenter ? After i migrate the entire server and i turn off the old one i will have problems with the dns ?

i got:

Main server IP: 10.10.10.2
ns3 10.10.10.3
ns4 10.10.10.4
ns5 10.10.10.5
ns6 10.10.10.6

Sound i edit and put the a new ip for 1 nameserver from the new datacenter ? replace ip 10.10.10.6 > 11.11.11.6

After i whant to move my ips to the new datacenter.

And i didnt get this "Points DNS on the old server to the new server (if you choose express) "

Thank you.
