Hi there,

I would like to check, I have copied my mails from /home/username/mails folder. Can I just copy over everything from my current web hosting company to another server elsewhere?

I am actually hosting my own server, so I need your expertise here (please?). Both are using CPANEL on Linux.

I hope that the migrating is as simple as the above.

If not, how? I tried to google everything about IMAP but can't get a simplified solution nor an accurate one.

Thanks.

You can use imapsync.

imapsync is a tool for facilitating incremental recursive IMAP transfers from one mailbox to another. It is useful for mailbox migration, and reduces the amount of data transferred by only copying messages that are not present on both servers. Read, unread, and deleted flags are preserved, and the process can be stopped and resumed. The original messages can optionally be deleted after a successful transfer.
