    Hello,

Please help - how to mount new partition for /home2?

I just made a new partition using fdisk.

I rebooted my server - what I should do next? What is the properly mount option if I want to use /home2 to strore my client files when /home will be full.

    Thank you

I would like to know if anything special is needed for this too.

Last I heard you cannot munt a new partition once the OS is installed.

A step by stpe for adding a new partition or software for this would be great :D

Also if you want it should mout at boot time then you have to give entry in /etc/fstab file also. Next time when you will boot your system it will automatically mount your new partation. :)

That only tells you how to mount to new drive or a second drive.

I was hoping for a step by step on adding a partition like /home2 to a existing production server.

    Kind of like:

    Log into root

    fdsk mount blah blah

    partition to mount /home2

    pico something

    write something

    Reboot server

    ---

It seems most tutorials are over complicated, my mind works best when things are simplified.

The need for this pertains to cpanel that's why I was hoping someone from there might take the time to do this for me.

    No worries.
