    Hello,
    In the last few weeks spammers are sending to our customers high amount of emails with viruses. this results with large amount of bounce-back return emails, which fill up mail queue. How can we stop these return emails?

    Well, yes, I can see that this behavior can be changed in exim filter. Thing is that I don't want our customers to receive such emails (if I remove the filter), rather than I would prefer email rejection at SMTP-time. or redirecting to /dev/null. Can you please suggest how this could be archived?

    Anton.

    Ok, so far I have changed few configuration values in Exim config to keep such bounce-back emails for fewer time in my queue.

    Code:
    ignore_bounce_errors_after = 45m
    auto_thaw = 4h
    timeout_frozen_after = 3d
