how to protect my file

    i have whm/cpanel and in cpanel account i created a folder with name "testing" and i store some file in this and give access to my friend by creating a ftp- account for "testing" folder but his system got compromised and someone replace the my file
    so i want to set some permission on ftp account that my friend can download the file by ftp account but not able to upload any file on my that folder . how can i do this???

    Root Administrator
    You can change the owner of the file to root, and then set the permissions to 644. That will keep anyone from modifying the file. For the folder you could set the owner to root and the permissions to I believe 755.
