Somehow ftp.domain.com is indexed by Google. I went ahead and removed A record for ftp for this domain in WHM but it doesn't seem to be removed.

I can still access and ping ftp.domain.com also works.

So what's going on?

How do I get rid of ftp.domain.com completely?

An FTP DNS record should be automatically created when adding a domain to cPanel. But, if you open ftp.domain.com you would only see cPanel's default web page.

After removing the DNS record, did you wait for the DNS propagation? Also, can you make sure you are removing the DNS record in the nameservers your domain is pointing to?

Since that is a dns record removing it requires dns propagation which can take 24 - 72 hours since you removed the record. On a windows computer you can try to "speed up" the proces by typing ipconfig /flushdns in a terminal.

As mentioned, you're likely just experiencing some DNS propagation, as deleting the record doe immediately remove it from the zone file on the WHM server, but the rest of the DNS servers in the world will take a while to see that change.
