    Hi,

    How can I configure exim to require the email "From" address to be the same as the authenticating email address?

    What I am trying to prevent is joe.user@domain.com from sending out an email as ceo.user@domain.com.

    I know when I used to use qmail this could be configured, and I would like to do the same within exim.

    Thanks in advance for the help/ideas?

    Try this:

    deny
    authenticated = *
    !condition = ${if match{$sender_address}{$authenticated_id}}
    message = Addresses do not match

    Nisse,

    Would it matter if it is at the beginning or the end of the ACL's?

    Thanks!

    Putting it right at the top of ACL_RCPT_TO works fine. Wherever you put it, make sure it goes before any "accept authenticated = *" line in the ACL concerned. :)

    Nisee,

    Sorry for the delay in responding to this thread.

    I looked at the conf file and did a search for the strings ACL_RCPT_TO and accept authenticated = * and could not find them.

    If you could spell it out in big handwriting, I would sure appreciate it :D

    Hi,

    Can someone help me with this ACL.

    When I put it in at the top of the ACL list, and save, I get an error about the syntax being wrong.

    When I take it back out, everything works fine.

    Any ideas?
