My WHM service is no longer working and nobody at my DC or cPanel seems to know how to get it back up. I need to reset a pw for a client and was wondering if someone could tell me how to do this through the command line.

You should be able to use:

    /scripts/chpass <user> <newpass>

If that doesn't work you can try:

    passwd <user>

and you should be prompted for a new password. I'm not sure if the latter affects everything in CPanel though. So your best bet is to use /scripts/chpass

Another way is to log in to the clients cpanel with either root or reseller password and make the change. If cpanel is working.
