To restart apache, usually all you need to do is type:

    service httpd restart

    As for WHM, try:

    service cpanel restart

Most of the posts are directly stating the SSH command you will need to type to restart a given service. It's as straightforward as that!

For most operating systems, you will find that the generic command:
    Code:
    service <service name> restart
will suffice, where you would replace <service name> with the name of the service you wish to restart, for example:
    Code:
    service cpanel restart
However there are sometimes minor differences between different operating systems and so these commands might not always work. If you are not fully familiar with the operating system you are using (and don't have time to read up on it), cPanel provides a selection of scripts that will restart services regardless of the operating system.

If you take a look in the /scripts directory, you will see a number of scripts named generically /scripts/restartsrv_<service name>. Running the relevant script will (most often) restart the service you require. Take a look for yourself and see what options are available.
