Can anybody assist on how to restart MailScanner from cpanel, normally after any changes of MailScanner setting such as adding whitelist it require restarting before the new setting take place. We can restart it from WHM or ssh but our client unable to do it via cpanel. We receive heavy support ticket as our client always failed to get it work until we restart it for them from WHM. Please help.

I handle this with a cron job that reloads MailScanner's rulesets every half hour. Then I just put a note in cPanel that says mail filter changes may take up to 30 minute to take effect.

Yup. The latest versions of MSFE fix a bug that uses cron job which reloads MailScanner rules for you.

How do we upgrade to new version of MailScanner or how to set the crontab so it will be automatically restart the MailScanner after certain period of time, also how to add the message in MailScanner saying that "mail filter changes may take up to 30 minute to take effect" as mentioned by rhettnet.

If you're using MSFE (MailScanner Front-End) then email us requesting a download account and you can get the latest version.
