Hi all! Does anyone else have this problem in WHM that I seem to have ie:

I Generate an SSL Certificate and Signing Request for a domain. Then I install the SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain.
All works fine and said domain is secure
BUT When I try to setup another domain on the server it doesnt work.I generate a cert and install it but in SSL Manager there is only the first original domain listed??? Any help here please.

What I need to do is setup about 5 domains to use SSL on their own accounts with their secure pages at their own web space. So far the only conclusion I have is to host the different clients secure pages on the domain that is setup as secure.
Well to make myself clear the question I am asking is:
How do I generate and install a cert for any domain independently of all others setup. So that in SSL
Manager it will list all SSL Hosts?

    Cheers!

you need unique IPs for each cert.

Regarding the SSL certificates located in WHM, how do you set it up? Meaning...

The information that "generates the certificate," is this the domain user's info or my info (server admin)? I am assuming the domain user's info...but then, how does the payment work?

Do I pay for the cert AFTER a client has paid me? DO I add client's billing info?

I need some clarification on what info to put where and the way you guys handle payments, since I cannot see the pages ahead of the ordering, and so that I don't register a cert with the wrong info.

Any help with this is GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks. :D

    RE: SSL setup and certs

*Note: I suggest trying this as a test first as you can delete the cert and start afresh again later.

The way I done this in WHM as server admin is as follows:

Go into WHM section SSL/TLS and select:Generate an SSL Certificate and Signing Request then enter the email address the cert will be emailed to
*send this email to yourself for testing cause once you do this you can delete after as previously mentioned* also for help on filling in the required fields visit http://www.cpanel.net/docs/whm/ go to section SSL/TLS for info on this.

After doing all said in WHM click on Install an SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain enter the domain you setup for the signing request and user at this stage it should pick up automatically the rest of the fields. When the files are all displayed in the fields (if not click (FETCH) to finish click on DO IT button and let it do its thing.
A screen that says something like ( checking cert -starting apache - finished etc etc

When that is complete click on LIST SSL Hosts and the domain that is setup as secure should appear in the right side window. All going well click on the domain name and it will take you to e.g. https://yourdomain.com or else in you browser address bar type in https://www.yourdomain.com and it should connect and prompt you to accept the cert that pops up.
If you view cert details it will display the original info that you set the cert up with in WHM.

    Hope some of this helps?

    Thank you very much kmacc!

Yes, this clarified the process for me...one last thing...

I have not bought the SSL certificate yet:
Do you buy the cert under your hosting company's name and info, or do you do it on behalf of the customer?

I am wondering how others do this...does the SSL provider bill the hosting company directly and then host bills customer, or does the SSL provider bill clients directly?

    Thanks again! :D

I followed these instructions to a T. Everything is installed via WHM, the SSL is showing up in the List SSL Hosts menu.

I also checked out the HOWTO: Install A SSL Cert located here

BUT, I cannot access the website in a browser via https://domain.com
AND it is showing up as http://domain.com

I filled out the cert order exactly as domain.com, not www.domain.com or sub.domain.com. In other words, I want to secure the whole domain.

Do you need to put files into another directory other than public_html?

Is there propagation time involved with establishing https://domain.com?

    Thanks...
