I have just noticed that ftp on my server has started allowing you to go up directories, you cannot read the /home or /home2 directories but you can go above that and see the tree and other server files

    bin
    boot
    dev
    etc
    home
    home2
    initrd
    installd
    latest
    lib
    lost+found
    media
    misc
    mnt
    opt
    proc
    q
    quota.user
    root
    sbin
    scripts
    selinux
    srv
    sys
    tmp
    usr
    var

How to i secure ftp again?

    Thanks!

    Hello mousepotatoe

If you have proftpd, you can verify the flie proftpd.conf that it have. DefaultRoot ~

    # vi /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf

You search DefaultRoot ~ if it not is, you write in this file DefaultRoot ~ and reboot of service proftpd.

    # service proftpd restart
    or
    # /sbin/service proftpd restart

About /home and /home2 you can verify the permisos of the directorys.

    Greetings.
