How to stop people using surfers email accounts for spam?

    Some account on my cpanel 6 server seem to be abused by 3rd parties who use the mail for spam.

    Dear Falkon,

    If you doubt that someone misusing your mailserver for sending spam then the best way to stop it is to disable open relay. If you require open relay then restrict open relay feature for SMTP connection originating from trusted IP. This feature can be configured in your mailserver.

    If the problem is because of e-mail ID spoofing then some ways to avoid it is.

    1. Use cryptographic signatures to exchange authenticated email messages. Authenticated email provides a mechanism for ensuring that messages are from whom they appear to be, as well as ensuring that the message has not been altered in transit.
    2. Ensure that your mail delivery daemon allows logging and is configured to provide sufficient logging to assist you in tracking the origin of spoofed email.
