    /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl:

/etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl: line 1: !DOCTYPE: No such file or directory
/etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl: line 2: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
    /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl: line 2: `"http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">'

You need to look in the /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl file and see where the error is i nthe file. It looks as if something isn't commented out properly or you have extra characters in it. Post up the file and someone can look at it.

Can check that file but I would also look to even see if you have any cron jobs running. If you dont need them, remove them.

You really should hire someone to help if you're not sure what you're doing and don't have time to learn.

The error complains about the file at:

    /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl

    Called by /etc/crontab

    01 * * * * root run-parts /etc/cron.hourly

That cronjob runs anything listed in /etc/cron.hourly directory.

If you look at the file /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl and its the original, you'd see this at top:

    # Copyright (c) 2004 Way to the Web Limited - all rights reserved.

One can only guess what you've changed to be getting the errors, but if you can remember what you changed, change it back. Or, post details on what you've changed to give someone else a clue that wants to help you.

    Do these posts help?
    http://forum.configserver.com/showthread.php?t=964&highlight=exim_deny.pl
    http://www.configserver.com/blog/index.php?itemid=248

Instead of removing a cronjob, you might find out what the problem is and fix it. Removing cron.hourly cronjob is not suggested.

Someone seems to have edited that file, by that error message.

Do you know how to access a file on your server? If so, can you access this file?
    /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl

If so, attach it here for us to peek at.

If not, and since that file is from ConfigServer you might want to hire them to service your server. He does provide the option on his site.

Looks to me like someone opened it or edited it and "word wrapped" it or something along those lines.!

As several people has stated, looks like a edited or corrupted file! Assuming it is a MailScanner ConfigServer file, either fix the file, re-download it, or hire someone to help you. It should not cost much since it looks like about a 2 minute job.

I think, the better solution for you will be to delete the current exim_deny and install fresh one. You can delete it as below

Select the option in WHM > Exim Configuration Editor > Reset ACL Config to Defaults and then remove the exim_deny files from shell:

    rm -fv /etc/exim_deny /etc/exim_deny.pl /etc/exim_deny_whitelist /etc/cron.hourly/exim_deny.pl
