Hi,

I'm new to this and have only recently been involved with cPanel. Due to some circumstances in my life I've needed to hand over the hosting of my services to a friend, and have found it almost impossible to take cPanel out of my system!

Any pointers? I'm a newbie, and this q has probably been asked a million times, so apologies if so :-S

It has been asked and the answer is always the same:
You don't uninstall cPanel, you just reinstall the OS.

The only way to uninstall cPanel is to format the partition(s) and reinstall the operating system. cPanel integrates very deeply into the operating system and there is no practical way to uninstall it.
