I currently have 1 dedicated server up and running. Lets just call it server1.com. THis server is set up with ns1.server1.com and ns2.server1.com and as a hostname I use pluto.server1.com.

Now, I have purchased another server. I have set this server up with donald.server1.com and ns3.server1.com and ns4.server.com as nameservers.
In the server1.com dns record I have added an entry for the hostname of the new server (donald.server1.com) and the main ip-address, but that's it.

Now, the question is; Where should I update all the dns records? I presume for all the domains setup on my new server, I should edit the dns records on this server and not my first server (pluto.server1.com) and no editing should be needed on the old server? or de I also need to add the ns3. and ns4. records to my first server?

I hope all of this makes sense and that somebody can provide an answer.

    thanks,

    T
