You want users to be able to upload pictures via FTP to your server? If so, you'll need to enable FTP in cPanel and make sure you have a Unique IP address on the account, then you can FTP in with any FTP client with the username anonymous and your email address (or a email address) as your password.

    Or,

If you want users to be able to upload pics and have them viewable on your site, you may just want to install an image gallery script. There are many "free" scripts available that would make upload and viewing super easy for your users and would avoid your having to assign actual ftp privs.

    Thanks all

but what i actually need to know is more basic:

1)How do i connect to the ftp server?
    When i type ;
ftp://mywebsite.com/username/password, i get page not found
Tried different variations but nothing works

2)how does a php code look like in which ftp priviliges are assigned to a guest, who then can upload a picture (either to my site or to my mysql database).

I will look in to the picture galleries thing to, sounds like a good alternative.
Nevertheless i feel really at least have to know how to use ftp.

    Greetings

    That does not work:
Whenever i type that in the address bar i get page not found.
However the adress in the adress bar changes from

    ftp://username@website.tld

    to

    ftp://website.tld/

I am also still interested in how the code of a form in wich a visitor can submit a picture to my site or database would look like.

    Thanks all for your time

    Greetings,
