We have been approached by another small hosting company to transfer their clients to our service after their server has been compromised.

At this time we are not certain how the box was compromised but the question is can we run any checks to ensure the websites, emails mysql database etc are clean?

We have suggested they approach clients to just upload from fresh to one of our servers, but with large databases etc its not feasible for all clients to do this.

thanks for any advice. Support Ticket Number:

Frankly i don't see any probs with using the copy accounts from another server option. It only copies the home directory, mysql databases, mailing list etc. Even incase there is a trojan or any other script running on the other server, it won't be copied. Assuming the script sits in the home directory of any customer, still the permissions for the script to run on the new server won't even exist ??

Just my guess... Support Ticket Number:
