Hello-

I have a couple of websites hosted on digitalpacific servers. Before i took over the websites as the administrator, the previous admin did something and my people are able to view their emails in google email(gmail). I have new employees, and have created email accounts for them. When I try to access using gmail I am unable to do so. Where in cpanel are the settings and how do i get this move forward.

Thanks
Supriya

cPanel has nothing to do with Gmail. If clients were able to view their mail using Gmail, then it was by using POP or IMAP to log into the server, just like any other mail client (like Outlook or Thunderbird).

To retrieve mail the mail server is usually mail.domain.tld, replacing domain.tld with the actual domain name and top-level domain. The username is the full e-mail address - you cannot use just the username; the domain must be included. The password is the mailbox's password set in cPanel. That is all you need for to retrieve mail on a default setup.

If this does not help, you might try Gmail's support resources. I found this by searching in Google for "gmail get mail from other server":

Thanks for the reply.

Not sure how exactly to solve the problem. I tried to send an email from the "webemail" from cpanel to my gmail. I successfully received the mail in gmail, however, when I tried to reply to the email, I got an error and that google wasn't able to deliver the email.

"Technical details of permanent failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the server for the recipient domain"

What should I do ? I tried to delete the email address and created a new one. The problem seems to be the same. May be I am missing something or not doing the correct steps. Please help.

Thank you

What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish?

Your first post hints that you want to be able to retrieve mail from your server, in Gmail, reading mail sent to your server in Gmail.

Your second post indicates a possible problem with sending mail to a Gmail address.

Those are two different situations.

What is the basic problem that you want to solve?

I created an email address and I would like to access the email from "email.domain.com.au" - which takes me to google server mail. I enter the user credentials and It doesn't log me.
