Hello,
This is my very first posting. I like to know if someone has any information on how to install redhat linux 8.0, so to comply with the minimal reqirements for cpanel to work(the dos and dont's)? After many unsuccessful attemps with the installation I have figured i should start looking for help. I have no knowledge of setting up web hosting and i have no schooling in the matter(this doesn't mean i cant learn). So any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you know of a website or two that gives step by step instructions of how to set everything up and how to cofig all the setting that would be wonderful too.

Thanks for your time and your very needed help.

You should buy a book like the Red Hat linux bible I imagine they probably have one out now for 8.0. I am going to be upgrading to 8.0 from 7.3 no reason I guess im just a windows user :p.

You can search red hat
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-8.0-Manual/install-guide/

thats what I came up with.

Im not sure what problems your having.

the most time consuming process of the install is probably the partitioning.

also dont install a firewall or select the server option cpanel takes care of this.

you should install kde or whatever the primary interface is name on 8.0 that way you can graphically config you network settings

This is also a good place to ask questions

I don't know about the book idea it may help some, but for me it was trial and error.

When you click the options to install for red hat 8.0 choose all the server icons options except for the mail sever.

The formating is where I made my first mistake and it can't be undone so I would focus on this. feel free to PM if you want more help on it.

Or my forum is here www.dwhs.net/hostingforum/ for some free help.

Good luck, Charles
