HOWTO: Cpanel & WHM Newbie Guide
    UPDATED 1/17/6

I would recommend that everyone looking for this guide please use Rampages site for further updates:

    http://www.webhostgear.com/3_print.htm

I have tried numerous times to update the information here - however w/o having a bump right below it to edit - I am unable to as cPanel forums now have a limit on the # of characters we can use in a posting

    Please visit http://www.webhostgear.com/3_print.htm

Personally prefer to see this on cpanel's forum.

I go "Here" for forum support for cpanel, not rackshack.

    Thanks.

    I also -

The original posting was by Rampage in the Rackshack Forums -
I have also found the Rackshack forums to be much more responsive when questions are asked -

I posted it here because many dont even know Rackshack Exists - however I believe Rampage to be the authority and do suggest you follow his thread over @ rackshack as it is much more complete than this one -

    cPanel.net Support Ticket Number: however . . .

    Hi,

I installed the cPanel sucessfully in my linux 7.3 server. However, I cannot open the url (url cannot find):

    WHM
    - Secure SSL https://sitename.com:2087
    - Regular http://sitename.com:2086

Please advise what may be the problem.

    Thanks~

Do you have those ports open on your firewall?

You first need to edit the /etc/named.conf file and then, in WHM, make sure everything is correct under Server Setup > Edit Setup.
