I hope one of you guys can help me.. :)

I've tried.. and tried and tried.. but no succes.
What I want todo is edit the file cpanel installs phpbb from so it (for example) includes some extra themes by default.
What I like to know is exactly what file should I edit and what program should I use to "zip" it back up?

Take a look in /usr/local/cpanel/addons/phpBB I believe it is all there.

There is a file pkg.tar.gz, wich I tried to edit before.
I used a tiny program called ezgz drag & drop to recreate the tar.gz file and when I put it back inside /usr/local/cpanel/addons/phpBB and then try to create a new phpBB it'll tell me something went wrong.
Should I be using another program to edit tar.gz files on windows or am I completely missing something here..?

I would copy the pkg.tar.gz file somewhere else like /tmp/BB. Then work from there.

    mkdir /tmp/BB
    cp /usr/local/cpanel/addons/phpBB /tmp/BB
    cd /tmp/BB

Then issue the command tar zxvf pkg.tar.gz

    tar xvfz pkg.tar.gz

This will reveal all the contents of the file.

Now replace your files then recreate the package.

    cd /tmp/BB
    tar cvfz pkg.tar.gz *
    cp pkg.tar.gz /usr/local/cpanel/addons/phpBB

Don't forget to clean up the mess

    cd /tmp
    rm -rf BB

    lol, never thought of that

pkg.tar.gz is the package I was referring to.

You created a new pkg.tar.gz. Why not post it to share with others. someone may find value in not having to recreate the same.
