You could follow my howto to update clam.Originally posted by hostseeker
Thanks, it seems to be working now so I think I will leave well enough alone.
It seems that Mailscanner upgraded to 4.28.5 however ClamAV is still 0.60
I think I will just leave it that way for now, as I was unable to get email at all for a couple of yours while the files and paths were screwed up.
Okay I will! Is it the original post in the 5 page thread or is there an updated post?Originally posted by anand

It it matters I am running RH Enterprise 3 with the latest kernel.
Casey could you just explain this ? I am confused. This question is pointed to my howto or ... Sorry.Originally posted by casey
I upgraded successfully, but it doesn't want to use clamavmodule. It simply refuses to deliver messages. If I change it back to clamav it starts working again. How can I find out why it doesn't like clamavmodule?
Yes, Mail::ClamAV is installed. :D
:D I guess I had an attack of newbiness. I mean for the virus scanning option in MailScanner.conf.Originally posted by anand

The only difference for me was that existing clamscan 0.60 was located at /usr/bin/clamscan and not /usr/bin/local/clamscan
Perhaps because I have RHE? Anyway, I renamed clamscan to clamscanold before I did the make install and it worked fine.
Thank you anand!
to many updates lol... i wonder if cpanel is ever going to start upgrading their mailscanner packageOriginally posted by rs-freddo
